Sydney Boat and Yacht Charters

Sydney Harbour And beyond

Sydney Harbour is alive with ferries, yachts, launches, ocean liners and kayaks and offers great boat and yacht charter opportunities. Laze on a chartered yacht moored in one of the bays or unwind on a cruise departing from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour. Darling Harbour is a lively waterfront and is alive with activity day and night. It has developed into one of Sydney’s largest dining, shopping and entertainment areas with exhibition and convention centres attracting large crowds. King Street Wharf is packed with classy dining venues while The Cockle Bay Wharf offers waterfront boardwalk with alfresco café, bars and restaurants. On the other side of the water lies Harbourside Shopping Centre which has a wide range of shops, restaurants.

Cruising Sydney’s Harbour is a great way to see the Australian iconic attractions like the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Sheltered beaches are also a main feature that must not be missed; they are contained within Sydney Harbour National Park which includes Nielsen Park, Washaway Beach, Reef Beach and further beaches stretching north of Dobroyd Head not far from Manly. Marine life in Sydney includes Dolphins, and the occasional whale drops in too. The surrounding Harbour environment includes heathlands, woodlands and eucalypt forests, with walkways between for easy exploration.

Sydney Harbour even has a couple of islands to explore on your boat and yacht charter. Fort Denison, Shark Island, Clark Island, Rodd Island and Goat Island have great cultural and historical significance. Some of the islands are rich in Aboriginal history, while others reflect a European past with convict-built structures and old forts. Sydney Harbour and Islands cruises aboard luxury yachts are available to book right now. A luxury yacht combines steadiness and comfort of a motor boat with the elegance and tranquility of a sailing yacht.

Shark Island is one kilometre off Rose Bay, and is a 1.5 Hectare island that has stunning views down the harbour to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Shark Island offers great picnic areas, and don’t worry the island received its name because of its shape and not its wildlife.

Clark Island was named after a marine officer, Lieutenant Ralph Clark, who arrived in 1788 with the First Fleet. In 1789, Lieutenant Clark tried to cultivate a vegetable garden on this one hectare island. He abandoned the idea when his crops were repeatedly stolen, ever since the island has been known by his name. Today small groups use Clark Island as a picnic area. Facilities include drinking water, picnic tables and toilets. The number of people is restricted to 30 per group with a maximum island capacity of 150 people. The island is also available for hire.

Many types of yacht and boat charters available in Sydney include motor, sailing, bareboat charter, skippered, crewed yachts, catamaran, power boat, sailboat, luxury yachts and even the occasional super yacht charter.
